Background 背景

Ghost is a new media and animation artist based in Suzhou. After graduated from Donghua University, she furthered her study at Pratt in NY. Enthusiastic about tattoos and wanted to be a tattoo artist, she tried advertising, but in the end, she realized that creating art is her pursuit.

Ghost是驻苏州的新媒体和动画艺术家。从东华大学毕业后，她前往纽约Pratt深造。她曾经对纹身充满热情，想成为纹身艺术家，也尝试做过广告行业，最终她意识到创造艺术是她的追求。

While she may shelter behind a concealed ‘Ghost’ identity, she advocates a direct connection between an artist and his constituency. She chose the name ‘Ghost’ because she doesn’t want people to think education background is more important than her work itself. She wants to keep herself mysterious so people know her and what she wants to express through her artworks. Similar idea as the most popular London graffiti artists right now Banksy, who’s never been seen and his mysterious identity has yet been unveiled. Like she said, “In my case, I just want when people Google my name they see my artwork, not my face. I design carefully every art piece visual and digital content that I make and that talks way more about me than my face or background, which I didn’t choose.”

尽管她可能躲藏在一个隐蔽的“幽灵”身份之后，但她主张艺术家与她的观众之间应有直接的联系。她之所以选择“Ghost”这个名字是因为她不希望人们认为教育背景比她的工作本身更重要。她想让自己保持神秘，人们才能了解她以及她想通过她的艺术作品表达的东西。与现今伦敦最受欢迎的涂鸦艺术家班克斯（Banksy）相似，他从未露面而他的神秘身份还尚未揭晓。就像她说的那样：“就我而言，我只想当人们使用Google我的名字时看到我的作品，而不是我的脸。我精心设计了我制作的每件视觉和数字内容的艺术作品，而这些关于我的话题要比我没有选择的脸孔或背景更能表达我的意思。”
