TODTIME “Essence” Art Exhibition | 艺术展《粹》

Art Exhibition Season 9 at TODTIME “Essence” was successfully concluded on 31st of August 2021. The art exhibition was co-launched by TODTIME and No Name Studio. During the two months, the art exhibition presented the collision of traditional culture and contemporary art in diversified forms, where audiences experienced the artistic charm of quintessence of Chinese culture at close range.

2021 年 8 月 31 日，TODTIME 时间廊公共艺术空间的第九季公共艺术展《粹》顺利落下帷幕，此次公共艺术展由 TODTIME 时间廊与 No Name Studio 联合发起。历时 2 个月的公共艺术展以多元的形态呈现了传统文化与当代艺术的碰撞，使观众近距离感受了中华国粹的艺术魅力。

The artwork was co-created by No Name Studio founders Penny Kwan and Carlo Maria Rossi with Gianluigi Misurelli. Unleashing the "essence" of Chinese culture with the "essence" of technology, the artwork embodied not only the deep-rooted paradigm inheritance of Peking Opera, but also its rich artistic methods and ultimate dramatic spirits that remain powerfully vital in the present.

该作品由 No Name Studio 两位创始人 Penny Kwan 和 Carlo Maria Rossi 联手 Gianluigi Misurelli 共同创作。以技术之「粹」释放文化之「粹」，体现了京剧在其根深蒂固的范式传承之外，其丰富的艺术手段和极致的戏剧精神在当下强大的文化生命力。

Everything has its source; everything can be digitalized. “Essence” converged “the essence of Chinese culture” and “the essence of the digital world”, enriching tradition with new vitality while rendering technology with ancient connotation. During which, audiences granted the great opportunity to experience, understand and fall in love with Chinese quintessence at TODTIME. 

万物皆有源，万事皆可数。《粹》以「国之精粹」交汇「数之精妙」，赋传统以新生，予技术以古蕴，带领观众在 TODTIME 时间廊感受国粹、理解国粹、爱上国粹。

Peking Opera has a history of more than 200 years since it gradually took shape during the Qianlong Period. With the unique Chinese wisdoms and cultural attributes accumulated, it has been passed down from generation to generation. “Fragrant of Peking Opera” not only took traditional Chinese culture as the root, but also absorbed the nutrients of modern aesthetics, interpreted contemporary artists’ understanding of traditional culture with AI and algorithm technology. The artwork amazed the viewers with refreshing classic Peking Opera arias and the representative facial makeup interpretations.

京剧自乾隆年间逐步成型至今已有 200 余年历史，沉淀了独特的中华智慧和文化属性，守中有变，代代传承。《京韵芬芳》以传统文化为根源，汲现代美学之养分，基于 AI 和算法技术，以新锐之势诠释了当代艺术家对传统文化的理解，为观者带来了耳目一新的经典京剧唱段及其代表性的脸谱演绎。
